The company GVA Sawyer (Sawyer & Co) was founded in January 1993 with the aim of providing a complete spectrum of professional real estate services including development, consulting, construction, construction management, property management, brokerage services, project financing and custom made project solutions.

The structure and management of the company is effectively organized and aimed at providing a comprehensive solution to clients’ property requirements. The highly professional personnel make it possible to accomplish complex projects on a par with international standards.
Since 1999, GVA Sawyer has been a member of the association GVA Worldwide and is also the exclusive representative of this association in Russia and the CIS.
The company’s license number is D 3438490 registered on 8.08.2002 GS-177-01-22-0-7709039709-005144-1, which allows it to carry out first and second phase construction of buildings.
Today, the company has a staff of 109 people with its central office located in Moscow at 13, bldg. 17, Nikolayamskaya Street. GVA Sawyer also has an office in St. Petersburg (4A, Efimova Street, Business Center «Mir», Office 330) and another office in Novorossiysk (10, Kommunisticheskaya Street). High profile professionals make it possible to effectively address and accomplish complex projects involving the resources of the whole company.
Development is the main activity of the company. GVA Sawyer collaborates with a wide circle of Russian and foreign investors, investment funds and banks. The first large project developed by the company was the Class A office building «Bernikovskaya Embankment House» situated near Tagankaya square (13, bldg. 17, Nikoloyamskaya Street, Moscow). A special joint enterprise with the Moscow Aviation Technology Institute was formed for the accomplishment of this ambitious project. This was the first project in Russia, which was completely financed by western institutional capital. The project «Bernikovskaya Embankment House» was included in a Harvard Business School text book as an example of a successful real estate project in Russia fully financed by western business capital.
Other projects completed by GVA Sawyer in Moscow are:
- «Alexeevskiy House» — a class A office development, which is located in the historic center of Moscow at 28, Ostozhenka Street. Within the framework of this project GVA Sawyer acted as the developer and agent for letting the space. Today Alexeevskiy House hosts the United Nations’ Moscow headquarters and Zenith Bank.
- The second construction phase of the elite cottage settlement «Sosnoviy Bor» — a lowrise suburban residential development located on the territory of the Presidential Administration sanatorium «Desna». GVA Sawyer acted as the developer and agent for letting the space. The houses are let to top executives of western companies based in Moscow.
- Class A Business Center «Kesko House», located in a prestigious historic district of Moscow at ?, bldg. 1, Korobeinikov Pereulok, was constructed for the company «Kesko-M» in 2003. Within the project GVA Sawyer acted as the developer, general contractor and consultant for the selection of tenants. The building is let to International law firm CMS Cameron McKenna.
Before 2002, GVA Sawyer worked successfully in Moscow and the Moscow region. From 2002 onwards, GVA Sawyer has substantially widened the geographical reach of its projects. A European standard hotel construction program was started along with other commercial, retail and residential complexes in other cities of Russia including St. Petersburg, Novorossiysk, Anapa, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk and others.
Since 2003, GVA Sawyer has been working in close collaboration with the international hotel operator Accor carrying out the construction of 3 and 4 star hotel complexes in ten large Russian cities.
GVA Sawyer’s largest-scale projects under realization today are:
- «Novocity» — an ultra-modern and multi-functional complex with an overall area of 110,000 sq. m right in the center of Novorossiysk, which also includes two modern hotel brands — Novotel and Ibis, two modern office buildings, retail developments and an elite residential development with underground parking (www.novocity.com).
- Hotel «Ibis 3*" with an overall area of 10,000 sq m in the city of St. Petersburg is located at 54, Ligovsky Prospect. The second construction phase envisages reconstruction of the neighboring building into a hotel-business complex.
- The reconstruction project of «Gostiny Dvor» in Moscow, where part of the premises with an area of 20,350 sq m will be reconstructed into the hotel «Novotel Gostiny Dvor» 4* with 199 rooms. The project will be realized jointly with the French hotel operator Accor.
- A unique housing project of GVA Sawyer is the construction of the elite residential village «Riviera on Istra» with a yacht club on the bank of Istra water reservoir in Solnechnogorsk region just outside of Moscow (www.istrariviera.ru).
Among GVA Sawyer’s clients are companies such as PepsiCo International (office and production premises in Podolsk), Master Bank (construction of a sports club and country houses for the company’s management), Mothercare (reconstruction of retail premises at 12, Prospect Mira, Moscow), Kesko-M (construction of the office building at 1/2, Korobeinikov pereulok, Moscow). GVA Sawyer has carried out high quality decoration works in the office and residential premises of companies such as Rank Xerox, Deloitte & Touche, Zenith Bank, UN Development Programme, Coca Cola, American Medical Center.
For the last three years, the company has been successfully developing its consulting services, covering the spheres of business planning, creating project concepts, market and financial analysis. GVA Sawyer’s Consulting Department successfully helps its clients to work out the ways to increase profit and returns from investments in real estate. Among the clients of GVA Sawyer’s Consulting Department are companies such as: OOO «Realtex Management Group» (functional assessment and space planning for the unique multi-functional complex «Neglinnaya Plaza» at 4, Trubnaya Square, Moscow), OOO «Enterprise Subneftgaz» and The Bank of Moscow (territory building solutions for Hladokombinat #3 at Dubininskaya St. and building concept of their premises at Avtozavodskaya Street); ZAO «Moskovskie Ozonatory» (conceptualization of territory development in the Losino-ostrovsky region of Moscow), OOO «Barni-L», OAO «Novye Cheryomushki», ZAO «KIA Systems», OOO «Toyota Motor» and others.
