Krasnoyarsk: GVA Sawyer will build «Yenisei Park City»

GVA Sawyer has legislated the right to develop an area of 16 hectares in the central part of Krasnoyarsk. The large-scale project "Yenisei Park City" involves the construction of over 400 thousand sq. m.of commercial areas, recreational facilities and sports destination.

The project will be carried out on Island Molokova in the Yenisei River, on the opposite side from the Administration of Krasnoyarsk.>

«Yenisei Park City» is an integrated development of a new territory of Island Molokova where it is planned to built hotels with conference center and apartment-hotels of total area of 290.000 sq.m., offices – 100.000 sq.m., the exhibition area – 15.000 sq. m., seascape - 3100 sq.m., yacht club - 7700 sq.m. and sports club - 5000 sq.m.

The project works will start in 2010. The total volume of investments will amount about 635 million US dollars. The project implementation period will be 10-15 years.

Vera Setskaya, President of GVA Sawyer, noted that the main idea of the project is the construction of the modern urban planning block of buildings and recreation-park zone which will combine the business and recreational areas and will be new, interesting and attractive place for residents and visitors of the city. «We have been given a task of creating comfortable and aesthetically attractive environment for work and recreation which includes modern equipped business premises, comfortable hotels (for long stays also), restaurants, shops, sport and leisure facilities», - says Vera Setskaya.

In addition, «Yenisei Park City» will be «some kind of continuation» of the sports area on Island Molokova, as it will include a large sports complex, seascape for parking of the small vessels and a long embankment with restaurants and cafes.

The development of Molokova Island is associated with the need for engineering and transport infrastructure construction. All properties of the complex will have the modern engineering infrastructure according to the international requirements. New and qualitative traffic system for the transport entrance and transit will be constructed.

Quality area development, construction of the pedestrian walkways on the base of modern pavement materials, effective and competent illumination of the territory will give an additional favour to the complex.

«Yenisei Park City» concept was developed by GVA Sawyer specialists together with the international architectural company Aedas which is well known for its large-scale projects in the UK, Western and Eastern Europe and Hong Kong.

«The attraction of foreign specialists will help to create a modern image in compliance with international standards and to use the latest world approaches and advanced technologies in design works. As a whole it will help to achieve the maximum efficiency of the project and to range it among the world analogs», - noted Vera Setskaya.

Today Krasnoyarsk is the city of innovations and a major business centre. In the medium-term program of social and economic development of Krasnoyarsk it is stated that the city will increase its capital functions as the administrative and the economic centre – one of the major economic centers in Siberia and Russia. «Krasnoyarsk 2020» federal program of creating the agglomeration is actively implemented in the city. To realize these ambitious projects in Krasnoyarsk it is necessary to create a new ideology of the city: to work out a new general layout, to develop the existing transport infrastructure, to create a system of cultural leisure activities. The major aim of the City Administration is to make Krasnoyarsk the modern cultural centre, a city with a high quality urban environment and a high standard of living.
