Sawyer Group`s development project in Finland “Kotka Old Port” was visited by Russian real estate market players in the course of a real estate business tour in Finland organized by the operator PROEstate Events. Over 30 representatives of the leading development, construction and property management companies, as well as architects had the opportunity to get acquainted with the ongoing implementation of a large-scale integrated urban development project and to communicate with the project participants.
The business tour guests were engaged in a panel discussion involving the City administration representatives. They learned details about the “core” of the project a Designer Outlet Center , which is now under intense implementation, and will be managed by the international operator `Freeport`.
The President of Sawyer Group Vera Setskaya presented the project to the audience and explained the project financial scheme and the role of the master-developer in the project organization. Also the Director of the City Planning Department of Kotka Markku Hannonen spoke in the course of the project presentation about the cooperation between the city and the developer for the purpose of joint implementation of the project, about the elements of public private partnership that are part of the project – the Technical University of Southeastern Finland and the Event Arena. Martin Hyams, Director of Architecture of AHR, which is the general designer of the project, spoke about the principles of master planning of a large territory, the general concept of Kotka Old Port territory, visual characteristics and architectural style of the project.
Petra Cranston, representative of the Regional Development Agency of Southeastern Finland `Cursor`. spoke about the creation of a transport logistics system and means to attract tourist flows to support the multifunctional project development. After the panel discussion the participants visited the site, whereby representatives of AHR and Sawyer Group gave explanations and answered the questions.
